Greeting, citizens of Central City! In this episode, comics enthusiasts Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) look at the hobby of comics collecting--as depicted in a comic book, when we read The Flash# 268 by Cary Bates and Irv Novick, published in 1978! After the usual biographical information, our plodding speedsters go through every page of the issue and try to figure out what makes The Flash vol. 1 # 26 just so darned special! After a little break, our bin-divers discuss the Golden Age issue in question, and then look at a history of cosplay and costuming. You don't want to miss this one, don't let it teleport away!

Sandman Universe Gatherum, Episode 3
Good Morning, Somnolent Strangers... it's time for another compilation of Sandman Universe Discussions.
We are about at the half-way point of our initial "weekly blitz" of episodes. In around three weeks time, we'll be all caught up to DC/Vertigo... at which point, this program will likely become more of a monthly feature.
We hope you're all still enjoying these little sleepwalks into The Dreaming!

Reggie's Comics Stories ep. 12 - John Mejias and The Puerto Rican War
Hello
folks! In this episode of Reggie's Comics Stories, Reggie
(@reggiereggie) attempts to overcome a lingering sickness to bring you
an interview with artist John Mejias, who is coming to a close on his
graphic novel The Puerto Rican War--a work wherein all the
panels are done in woodcut! Reggie muses about the line between fine art
and comics, and then tries to talk up Mr. Mejias without gushing over
how much he likes the work. And fails. But don't let that stop you from
checking out this book when it comes out!

Cosmic Treadmill ep. 133 - Indestructible Hulk #12 (2013)
Hello, berserkers! In this episode, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) check out a more recent offering by Marvel Comics: Indestructible Hulk #12 by Mark Waid and Matteo Scalera! After the usual biographical information, they talk about what brought Bruce Banner and his verdant alter ego into the employ of S.H.I.E.L.D., and catch the listener up to the very moment that they read the issue in question. After that, our completionists tell the rest of the Indestructible Hulk's story--right up to its final issue! After a short discussion of Old Norse berserkers and the positions they played in the military, our pair read some listener mail! This episode packs a punch strong enough to wallop a dinosaur, you don't want to miss it!

The Sandman Universe Gatherum, Episode 2
In this second "compilation" episode, the gang's all here as we welcome Luciferand Books of Magic into the fold, and continue along with The Dreaming and House of Whispers (already in progress).
Will Lucifer's nebulous storytelling, and Books of Magic's decompressed to the Nth degree nature be enough to spoil the party? Listen in... and find out!

Chris is on Infinite Earths, Episode 13: Gon, Volume I of IV (1996)
This week's episode is a little bit different from our usual superhero fare... actually, it's a whole lot different. Today we're going to meet a tiny dinosaur named Gon (created by Masashi Tanaka), and take a look at his first tankÅbon volume, which contains three stories... and zero words!
Ya see, Chris picked this book to review before heading out on vacation, thinking its lack of words would make for a quick and easy synopsis. Let's just say, he learned a lesson in "cutting corners" that day.

Cosmic Treadmill SPECIAL - Comix Tawk, Episode 6: The Four Kinds of Fans
Hello folks!
Since we're still under the weather at Cosmic Treadmill HQ, we've decided to lift the paywall over at patreon.com/chrisandreggie and share with the public a fairly recent episode of Comix Tawk! Comix Tawk is a twice-monthly exclusive program wherein Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) have an off-the-cuff conversation about the industry we hold so dear. Sometimes they get a little too passionate... this might be one of those times.
This one based around the "Four Kinds of Fans," as stated by wrestling promoter and personality Jim Cornette. But don't worry, this certainly isn't a wrestling podcast: Chris and Reggie relate these four fandoms to comic books, and opine on how appealing to one group over others is, well, foolhardy!
Enjoy the discussion, and let us know what you think!

The Sandman Universe Gatherum, Episode 1
Hello everyone, and welcome to a brand-new offering from the Chris and Reggie Channel. In the spirit of our old Young Animal Gatherum (all 30 hours of which are available in the archives), we have decided to begin compiling our discussions of The Sandman Universe titles, which appear as segments on the Weird Science DC Comics Podcast.
Listen along as a long-time Sandman fan (that'd be Reggie) takes a neophyte (that'd be Chris) under his wing, and together they try and make sense of this sorta-new/sorta-not Sandman Universe!

Cosmic Treadmill, Ep. 132: Jack Chick's "Dark Dungeons"
Hello, Panicking Pals! This week we were unable to release an all-new episode, and so we decided to share a sampling from the Cosmic Treadmill, After Dark Collection (exclusive to Chris and Reggie Patrons). During this episode, we look at Evangelist Jack Chick and his comic book tracts, and the Satanic Panic of the 1980s and 1990s, and how it fueled Jack's ministry.
We also read the tract "Dark Dungeons" in its entirety... it does deal with very adult themes--so put the kids to bed before listening. Thanks to everyone for your support, and please let us know if there are any questions or suggestions!

Chris is on Infinite Earths, Episode 12: Mother Panic #1 (2017)
No, gentle listener, this isn't the return of the Young Animal Gatherum...
This time out, I give a peek behind the curtain and tells the story about how a review he did on a site other than his own, managed to affect change on Chris is on Infinite Earths!
What happened when Chris received his first bit of clapback? Well, lemme tell ya, It's a story of angry comments, curse words, appeals to motive, and over-reaction... with just a little bit of ranting about the current sensationalized comics reviewing "culture". It's somehow even less provocative than it sounds!

Cosmic Treadmill ep. 131 - Dinosaurs Attack! #1 (2013)
Say hello to yesteryear, comic book enthusiasts! In this episode, time-travelers Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) take a trip to the Mesozoic Age...or was that the Devonian? They check in on some ancestors that never quite existed when they read Dinosaurs Attack! by Gary Gerani, Herb Trimpe, and Earl Norem, published by IDW in 2013! After the necessary biographical information, our saurian scientists dive into the 1988 Topps trading card set that birthed this comic book series, and look at why it began at one publisher almost thirty years ago, but concluded at IDW. After a reading of the issue and a brief intermission, these temporal physicists tell the rest of this bizarre and probably overly-complex story, and wrap it up with a history of trading cards--the gory edition. It's an episode steeped in viscera and pseudo-science, you don't want to miss it!
