Cosmic Treadmill ep. 143 - Mary Worth: The Aldo Kelrast Saga (2006)


Greetings, comic strip enthusiasts! In this episode, Worthiteers Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) peer into the salacious world of Santa Royale when they read a run of Mary Worth comic strips from 2006  by Karen Moy and Joe Giella! After picking apart the history of Mary Worth, and detailing this strip's trappings, they read every daily strip from July 2 to October 17, 2006, in which a new person moves into the neighborhood–and Mary Worth's life! Then, our newsies talk about other times comic strips tackled subjects taken from the headlines of the day, and even reveal a current storyline in Funky Winkerbean, which has yet to be resolved (as of this recording!) In this episode, the same-old consistent Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) check out an early Marvel relaunch of their flagship superhero team, and the career of one of comics' most prolific writers, when they read The New Avengers #1 by Brian Michael Bendis and David Finch from 2005! After a lengthy biography of BMB and some background on why the Avengers were "newed." Cosmic Treadmill ep. 113 - Insane Clown Posse: Halls of Illusion #1 (2002)


What's up, ninjas! In this episode, Juggalos-in-training Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) check out the world of the Wicked Clowns when they read Insane Clown Posse: Halls of Illusion #1, published by Chaos! Comics in 2002! After some biographies for creators Jesse McCann and Gerardo Sandoval, they provide a detailed history of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope's often misunderstoof group. Then, they go through every page of the comic, with the usual throat-shredding panache. After a break, containing the song upon which the comic is based, the hatchet-swinging two close out their look at ICP, provide a brief history of clowns, and talk about other famous comic book clowns through history. Plus: a bunch of listener mail! It's better than catching a bottle of Faygo to the head, you don't want to miss it!

Cosmic Treadmill, Ep. 98: Nightwing #93 (2004)


Hello! In this episode, our caring and compassionate comics readers Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) tackle an uncomfortable subject when they read Devin Grayson and Patrick Zircher's Nightwing #93, published by DC Comics in 2004! After some biographical information and a little place-setting, the duo use their vocal stylings to read the entire issue. Then they look at the ciritical reaction to the book and some background information on Devin that might help explain--or illuminate the reasoning behind some of these story choices.
