Welcome, Friends!  We are beyond x-cited to start this new adventure!  Welcome to FROM CLAREMONT TO CLAREMONT: AN X-MEN PODCAST, where I will be taking a trip back and cover the era of X-Books that made me a lifelong fan... and I've brought a great group of friends with me for the ride!  We've got Mutant Angst, deaths that won't stick, shoulder pads, weird floating babies, a constipated Dr. Strange, not one but TWO Coolometers, and a whole lot more!
For our maiden voyage, we are looking at all of the X-Men titles with an October, 1991 cover-date... also known as that month when X-Men (vol.2) launched and broke all sorts of records!  It's gonna be a great time, please consider coming along!
If you do, Welcome to From Claremont to Claremont... we hope you survive the experience... like literally, the show is many many hours long!

ReMarvel, Episode 6: The X-Men & Me / Me & the X-Men

What's happenin', mutants?
Today I go off-the-cuff and share my life and times as an X-Fan.  From the gimmicky nineties, through the event-heavy aughts, and into the reboot-heavy present.  Up until a few years ago, the X-Men have always been a "comfort food" for me... and I'm doing my darnedest to get that feeling back! All that, and some news about the future of the show!
Note: If you're a regular listener, the first 5-10 minutes will be bits of stories you've likely already heard... at least once!

ReMarvel, Episode 3: X-Men (vol.2) #45 (1995)

There are many times in the life and times of a comics enthusiast where walking away might be smartest option.  Naturally, as comics enthusiasts, very seldom do we actually do so!  Today, I'm going to share the story of the first time I ever "walked away".  All that, and we get to go through a pretty great issue of X-Men!
The concept of "walking away" is one I'm very interested in as a fan... and I would love to hear any stories you might have about times in which you might have stopped collecting or reading... why you finally pulled that trigger... and, since we're all still comics enthusiasts: what brought you back?

ReMarvel, Episode 2: X-Men (vol.2) #8 (1992)

Hello Fellow Hunters!
This time out, I reminisce over my first-ever comics "white whale" as I discuss X-Men (vol.2) #8!  Before hopping into the issue proper, we talk about where I started as a fan of the X-Men family of titles, how different the comic collector's journey looked for a kid growing up in the early-1990's, and how a love of lore turned into a life-long relationship with this particular franchise!  Also, looking for Betamax tapes in Satanic Bookstores?  Trust me, it all fits... sorta!

After a look at the editorial landscape at Marvel at the time, they go through every page of this book, lending their commentary and vocal rudeness along the way. Then they discuss the mysterious Writer "X", who it could have been...and who it actually is! Do not resist this episode, listen in!

Cosmic Treadmill ep. 105 - Marvel Comics' Age of Apocalypse Part Six: X-Men Omega #1 (1995)

It's the dawn of a new day, comics enthusiasts! In thie episode, time-jumpers Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggeireggie) conclude their six(!) part look at Marvel Comics' 1995 X-Men event, Age of Apocalypse, when they read X-Men Omega #1 by Scott Lobdell, Mark Waid and Roger Cruz! After some quick biographical recap, they detail every moment of this show-stopping conclusion, providing context wherever available. Not content to leave things there, our Doctors Who then go over X-Men Prime #1 by Scott Lobdell, Fabian Nicieza, and...many talented artists. After some post-Apocalyptic biographies for event architects Lobdell and Nicieza, our pair discuss the fallout from this "self-contained" event, and share their personal thoughts about it--one having read it for the first time for this podcast, the other having bought it as it came out in 1995! We bet you can guess which is which. Listen in to find out if you're right!

Weird Comics History #18: The Strange Story of the Sentry

Weird Comics History: Episode 18
The Strange Story of the Sentry

This week, Chris takes Reggie back to Marvel Comics' 21st Century renaissance to look at a "lost" character: the Sentry! A Superman-esque caped hero designed by Golden Age stalwart Artie Rosen in 1961, but unpublished and quietly shelved. After Rosen's passing, character designs were discovered, and it was up to Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee to bring the Sentry--Marvel's first superhero--into the light of day! They examine the Marvel Knights miniseries and discuss future adaptations of the character. Then, Chris and Reggie discuss some sales figures and whether or not the series was successful. Plus: a special secret surprise! Enjoy!
